Putting: Pace Over Line
Control speed first. A consistent roll turns scary second putts into tap-ins.
Core Idea
Speed kills (or saves). Matching pace to the slope reduces three-putts more than chasing the perfect line.
Practice: Ladder Drill
- Set 5 tees at 3 ft intervals (10–25 ft).
- Roll 3 balls to stop by each tee — focus only on speed.
- Repeat uphill and downhill; learn how pace changes.
Track it in ClearCut
- Proximity: Log first putt distance — watch second putts shrink.
- Putts: Use 0–5 range, 0 for hole-outs.
TL;DR
Dial in speed. Your second putts get short and simple.
