Routine Consistency
Same sequence every putt—confidence under pressure.
The Concept
Random routines breed doubt. A fixed sequence reduces decision fatigue and lets your subconscious execute the stroke.
Think: Read → Set feet → Aim face → Last look → Stroke. No extra fidgets.
Build Your Sequence
- Number of practice strokes (0–1–2) decide and keep
- Feet first or face first—choose and commit
- Final look = distance + start line merge
- Trigger word ("roll" / "smooth") for motion start
The Drill
15 Ball Routine Reps
Set 15 balls: Mix lengths (4–25ft). For each, perform identical routine—no skipped steps.
After: Rate stroke quality (1–5). Identify where routine broke on low scores.
Refine: Remove any unnecessary movement next session.
Track in ClearCut
- SG:Putting variance decreases
- Fewer tentative strokes on mid-range putts
- Short putt make % improves through clarity
TL;DR
Lock a simple routine. Consistency breeds trust—trust sinks putts.
