Short Putts Confidence
Own the 3–6 foot range—simple routine, square start.
The Concept
Short putts reward consistency. Most misses come from poor face aim or decel. A tight routine + committed stroke eliminates hesitation.
Focus: start line + committed pace; accept minimal break inside 3ft unless severe.
Keys
- Same number of looks each time
- Square shoulders / eyes over or slightly inside ball
- Firm strike—avoid dying pace that exaggerates break
- Finish held 1 second for stability
The Drill
Gate & Circle Combo
Setup: 2 tees as putter head gate just wider than face. Place 6 balls in a 3–6ft semicircle.
Process: Run routine for each ball; strike through gate—no tee contact.
Goal: 5/6 makes without touching a tee. Repeat from opposite side.
Track in ClearCut
- Lower strokes from fewer tap‑in misses
- SG:Putting improves by cleaning short range
- Confidence spills into mid‑range putts
TL;DR
Build repeatable start line and pace—short putts become automatic.
